Weston, has accumulated a specialized blend of sophisticated intelligence gathering talents. These investigative talents were crafted and mastered while a member of US Military Intelligence community, as an SIU insurance fraud investigator and as a leader in the Private Intelligence and Investigation sector.   The late 1980’s ushered in the emerging digital medium intelligence investigators refer to as the ‘information superhighway’ AKA: worldwide web or internet. This new internet information medium was now a part of millions of households nationwide. This meant that  individuals once personal information now was beginning to flow into the web by the Trigabytes. This emerging digital medium and mass of information provided the already information tech savvy Weston the opportunity to utilize his specialized Cyber Intelligence Detection talents to defend against insurance fraud. While working for the highly regarded SIU, Special Investigative Units of AIG, American International Group, Zurich North America and Gallagher Bassett Services, Weston continued to develop and utilize his intelligence recovery talents and led him to the sucess he enjoys today as the founder of Weston Intelligence.    In 2000 while working as a Special Investigator for Zurich North America in charge of administering and analyzing the vendor outsourcing panels for physical surveillance and other non SIU investigations, Weston quickly realized two important facts, the private investigative industry was dominated by the large well financed ‘billing mills’ and that this ‘billing mill’ mentality created a serious deficiency in superior ‘results driven’ investigators and firms working in the private sector. However, due to large marketing budgets these ‘billing mills’ managed to be on every large SIU’s   vendor panel. While spending more on marketing than its staff, these large nationwide firms were routinely investigating large exposure suspect claims for carriers with inexperienced investigative interns and/or investigators with little to no insurance claims backgrounds. They provided large bills and ‘cookie cutter’ reports with only accidental intelligence. Not surprisingly many of the large agencies were disliked by adjusters and risk managers however many times they provided the only options for quick turnaround and cheap fees.  It was this lack of specialized quality insurance investigators in the private sector that fueled Weston to resign from the SIU field and offer his talents to the masses…Weston Intelligence was born and is now a private investigative firm like no other in the world…small, sophisticated and specialized.   Standing in contrast to the large ‘billing mills’, Weston has remained committed to the roots of its success by remaining a smaller, sophisticated specialized intelligence firm. This philosophy is allowed Weston to remain the industry leader in providing analyzed intelligence. Based on the specialty strengths of Weston and the ever advancing Cyber Intelligence Resources, Weston developed the acronym ‘CIDAR’ to define his specialty. We believe that your success is our success.    Our Founder...    Richard J. Weston, FCLS, CIFI, SCIA possesses over 25 years of investigative and intelligence gathering experience. 'Rick' began his investigative career in 1981 as a US Military Police officer. He was specially trained as a covert operative to working within the elite Army and Navy Special Ops Units gathering cyber and field intelligence for defense forces. With the newly emerging 'computer age' and worldwide web, Mr. Weston quickly became an expert in gathering Cyber Intelligence. After leaving the military ranks Mr. Weston's talents and training allowed a smooth transition into the civilian world of private investigation. Since then Mr. Weston elected to dedicate his entire career to specialized insurance defense investigations and fraud detection. Working as an SIU Special Investigator within the  prestigious Fraud Units of AIG (American International Group), Gallagher Basset Services and Zurich North American Insurance, Mr. Weston has now grown into one of the leading authorities on 'CIDAR' ‘Cyber Intelligence Discovery and Recovery’ in the defense of fraudulent insurance claims.     Over the past 25 years, Mr. Weston has earned the respect of his peers as well as multiple military and civilian investigative awards. Weston has been instrumental in saving clients millions of claims dollars by uncovering organized fraud rings as well as the arrests of individual fraudulent claimants.    Mr. Weston has successfully completed several insurance defense courses and has earned the prestigious industry designations of FCLS, 'Fraud Claims Law Specialist', CIFI, 'Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator' and SCIA, Specialized 'Cyber Intelligence Analyst'. Mr.  Weston specializes in various disciplines of high exposure insurance losses including workers compensation, liability and property casualty claims. Mr. Weston still personally conducts as many investigations as possible and/or oversees all investigative work that leaves our office.   Weston has been a guest lecturer on insurance fraud, 'Cyber Intelligence', 'Data Mining' and Entrepreneurial Investigative Business Practices at colleges and at various insurance related organizations throughout the nation.  Mr. Weston is accredited by the State of Florida division of insurance to develop and instruct 'CEU' continuing education courses that provide insurance professionals their state required credits to maintain their license.                                                                                                       .
